Those are our football players? Really!? Halfway There The seniors of '86 began their sophomore year with high hopes of the successful completion of exactly one half of their high school education. The sophomores had a great time preparing and decorating for Homecoming. This year’s colors were light blue and dark blue, and topped off with a large painting of an evening scene done by a very generous art student. The theme this year was Sweet Dreams”, and after several weeks of careful searching and budgeting, the sophomores hired Rex Hedding and his band to make the Homecoming dance a great success. Now the sophomores began turning their thoughts toward next year and the Prom decorating, the class sold jewelry and calendars to raise funds for this project. Over 1,000 dollars were raised. Hopefully, their remaining two years of high school will be as great as the first two. Continued from page 16. The Junior class was in charge of the bonfire for homecoming. They used the T” on the hill and one evening was spent clearing it out. After this was completed, some members experienced more excitement. Laurie Goracke and Lloyd Kettelhake represented the class as Junior attendants. Junior members were involved in all winter sports. Both girl’s and boy's basketball teams consisted of many Juniors and these members were real assets to the two teams. The wrestling team had a lesser turnout of members from this class but Scott Shuey, Steve Parrish, and Kevin McKinney did a nice job of representing the Juniors. Members of the class were also an important part of the golf and track teams. Several members who chose not to compete in sports found they were counted on to keep statistics and records. When the class was called upon to provide the soup for the soup supper given in memory of Darren Mattheis, once again they pulled through with each member donating one gallon. Several individuals were involved in special academic contests and most all took skills tests to find possible unknown abilities. The Junior class of 1983-84 had an outstanding year, which they felt was the best yet. Patti: Mr. Richerts helper Mike Pooch states a fact. Kris, what are you studying? Dave Hutt Shueyl’S Mark P.
