Also, for the first time the play was performed on the floor in the new gymnasium. For many years a melodrama such as this had not been performed in the high school. The cast and crew used all the techniques needed to produce a melodrama. They used background piano music to announce the characters, and for the overture and the curtain call. Because of the necessity of changing scenery in the three acts and lack of curtains to pull because of the unique staging, Bowery Movers developed a show to entertain the audience as they changed sets. It was quite a learning experience for the whole team, but a lot of pride was put into the team. To start off the year the team dropped their first home game in two years on their new football field to Wymore Southern 33-6. The next week the team traveled to highly rated Auburn and lost their second of the season 47-0. As weather continued to be ideal for football, invading Hebron came to the home gridiron and gave Tecumseh their third loss 16-0, in a very hard fought game. The next week was homecoming, when Syracuse dampened the hopes of everyone's first win, by winning 46-0. The next week Tecumseh traveled to their old rivalry, the Johnson-Brock Eagles, which the latter won 20-0. The next week in cold rainy weather the team traveled to Nebraska City and lost 33-6. With only two games left in the season Springficld-Platteview handed Tecumseh its seventh loss 39-12. With the last game at home with Falls City, the team played their best game of the year. With six inches of mud and very cold weather the team dropped their final game of the season 12-0. At the end of the season the senior mothers hosted a supper for the team, for the hard work the team nut in durinc the 1974 football season. 6 Andy Pope and Roger Werner lead interference for Randy Stinson. 44 FIRST ROW: Asst. Each year, graduates are discovering that employment and other goals in life are being governed, ever increasingly, by the demand of a technological society for an educated work force. The Tecumseh Public Schools have consistently attempted to keep its curriculum current with the demands of society. Although we have failed partially in isolated areas, our successes far outweigh our setbacks, and our graduates enter life better versed in work skills and habits than many other schools. This is why Tecumsel has been, and still is, the educational leader in southeast Nebraska. For providing these educational opportunities for the students, we must extend a large Thank you to the patrons of our district for consistently supporting a quality educational program. RICHARD A. BROMMER, Superintendent DAY BY DAY, We showed the attitude of working together as exemplified by the seven senior boys--Tom Evans, Andy Pope, Mark Scott, Stan Teske, Kevin Watteyne, Tim Weinrich, and Brad Woltemath--who planned and did the work with the cooperation of the Mrs. Francis Grof Schmidt, Tom Grof, and Joseph Grof families; Jack Evans; Vem Stephens; and LaVere Doty to erect a Victory Bell.
