After the victory over Sterling of 32-13 Head Football Coach Larry Dunn accepts the South East Border Conference Championship trophy for the second consecutive year, with a tally of undefeated conference games, one loss to Wymore Southern, and one game to be played with the Auburn Bulldogs. The last game of the season, the Auburn game, was the second defeat for the Indians. The 5th rated Auburn Bulldogs ran up a score of 34-8 over the S.E.B.C. Champs. Pictured are Gregg Mc-Alexander. Indian s defense lined up against the Pawnee offensive down to 8 pts. while the T-Town Indians racked up a winning total of 20 pts. Tim Morrisey (21) makes the second complete return of the Pawnee game. Previous to Tim’s punt return for a touchdown Tony Davis made a opening kick-off return for the sixth victory of the season. Prior to the Pawnee game. Oct. 23. the FHA girls sponsored and served the parents of the football players a meal and were later given free passes to the game and wore the names of their sons on their backs. After the victory over Pawnee the Indians traveled to Sterling for a 32-13 victory over the Jets. Right end Lyle Stephens (81) runs for extra yards for the Indians after receiving the pass from quarter back Dan Piersol.

It is a sport in which 10 to 30 participants run a one and one-half to three mile pre-set course on a hilly area, park, or golf course. Points are scored by individuals taking first to tenth place in the race. Placings may be cut down depending upon the number of participants. Coached by Stan Martin the cross country team competed in three meets during the 1970 season. They were dual meets at Tecumseh and Beatrice and an Indivitational meet at Auburn High School.
