Text from Pages 1 - 68 of the 1959 volume:

To help you brush the dust from faded pages of memory and present a vivid picture of the dim, half forgotten events of your High School days in the future — This is the aim of the 1959 Annual Staff Dear Mr. Rector, We, of the Senior Class, dedicate our annual to you, who during the last two years of high school, set before us an excellent example of adulthood. Through your understanding ways, and many words of advice have helped us in preparing for the future. With your good sense of humor and quick witted answers, it has been a pleasure to be under you in class. With your outstanding ability as a coach, you boosted the morale of the squad, and gave the boys self-confidence and encouragement during hard times. With our deepest respect and gratitude, we dedicate the 1959 TOMAHAWK. Gratefully, The Senior Class of 1959 d m ♦ i n ♦ t t r a t ♦ i o w A. V. Grass, Superintendent Wayne K. This three act comedy was about a family deciding where to spend their vacation. The mother finally decided to spend it at home. Wilbur spent most of his vacation cleaning the garage, Father almost lost his job, Betty didn't get to see Rock Hudson and Father spent his vacation painting the basement. The scenes at the last of the play were rather hectic and the play ended with the members of the family either injured or worn out completely. Two hundred miles later, and not much sleep having been acquired from the long trip; we arrived at Kirkwood Lodge, Osage Beach, Missouri to find approximately five other schools there. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, Miss Stewart, and community sponsors Mr. and Mrs. Ike Bohling, found most of the seniors resting the first day. We could swim, boat, fish, go horseback riding and SLEEP. At night there was a square dance and a picnic which found few Tecumseh seniors attending. The next day was spent really enjoying the surrounding Lake of the Ozarks area, despite the cool weather — sweat shirts were the garb of the day. That evening we visited Phantom Acr ' and Dog-patch. The next morning we boarded the bus for home. About 9:00 on Friday May the 15 we arrived tired and weary, but we all had to agree It was quite an experience!! Plenty of Room on the Bus. BREAKFAST??? Mr. Beamer took the directing of this little group. The comedy was about a young married couple, Roy and Arleen Harrington, and all the excitement that happens when Arleen leaves for a weekend; on the way from the depot Roy finds an East Indian girl. Things really start popping — from Mrs. King, mother-in-law coming to being called 'Master' — but it all ends well except for Doctor Douglas!!! Arleen Harrington. Roy Harrington...
