“
R A P H THIS BOOK BELONGS TO To help you brush the dust from faded pages of memory and present a vivid picture of the dim, half-forgotten events of your High School days in the future — This is our aim. Dear Miss Spradley, We, the senior class of 1956, dedicate our yearbook to you, who traveled the four year journey through T.H.S. with us. To us, you have been an example of a wonderful teacher, good friend, and a respected alumn. Your marvelous idea of Homecoming will be a joyous reminder throughout the years of you and Tecumseh High School. Sincerely, The Class of 1956 —2— ISiffOOT L. T. Little, Vincent Swanson, Dr. C. P. Campbell, President K. J. Feese, Secretary, A. V. Grass, Mrs. Lowell Buerstetta, and Vice-President Eugene Brock. CJ5oard To you, as the chosen representatives of the people of the community, is due the gratitude of the Class of 1956 and all those who have enjoyed the privilege of attending school in Tecumseh. Education Today is far different than that of Yesterday—and the changing conception has been grasped and we are the ones benefitted. We assure you of our appreciation and ask that you follow our careers in the hope that we may do something which will in some measure repay you. The plot centered around Don Cutter, a young playwright, who retires to his old deserted household to “get away from it all” only to find his troubles just begun. A broken engagement, a fake crimminal, and a variety of “niits” such as Lady MacBeth, John Alden, Priscilla, and many others help complete the hilarious adventure. JUNIORS PERFORM! The club participated in the district contest at Hebron in February, and also in the state contest, which was held in Lincoln. Other club activities included a combination F.F.A. — F.H.A. skating party and square dance, and the F.F.A. National Convention at Kansas City in October. The Chapter held a very successful four week pest eradication during the closing weeks of Nov. and opening weeks of Dec. A chili feed was given to the winning team of this contest in Jan. by the losing team. —31— “Man of the hour! “Men of the soil! The squad composed mostly of inexperienced men had a hard uphill battle in the phase that the Indians were outweighed every game they played. The season record might have been much more'impressive had the three games lost by one touch down could have been tied or won. The Indians will lose eight seniors, but will have a full team of letter men to work with next year. SCOREBOARD Opp. Tec. Rebecca Ruby On April 28, 1Q56 the Junior class held for their guests a banquet and prom in keeping with the theme of “Candyland”. A delicious meal was served by the waiters and waitresses dressed in candy-striped costumes. A program was presented, after which the group adjourned to the ball room and danced to the music of Duanne Schultz. The evening, still young, was concluded by a movie at the local theatre. —54- WAITERS Bill Anderson Ray Miller Larry Clark Robert Bicknell Robert Stangel Jack Russell Dennis Dahl Pat Morrissey The Bauers feast. Sweet dreams?! Chow line. Smile, Carl! Seniors and bear. Clamour Girl. Our prize Hobo. Just parked. I’m a Jr., see!! Shoe-shine! Track and Pep Club gorge. FFA-FHA Royalty. Let’s dance. The Senior Class of 1Q56 wished to do something different for their trip, but anything costs money so they set out to make it. They had bake sales, sold at basketball games, had cookie sales, sold class pins, but the most well liked were the days when the kids put on their old clothes and did for other people what their mothers want them to do all the time. Operation (QzarlzA 1956 sSenior ZIrip The Senior Class of 1056, always an ambitious bunch, left Tecumseh at one in the morning, on April 16. The class, transported by two buses were on their way to Kirkwood Lodge, Osage Beach, Lake of the Ozarks. The class had as it’s honored guests, Mr. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Cook, Miss Stoll, and a few Teddy Bears. The time at the lodge was spent boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and dancing. Of course, this was an educational trip and so we toured Bagnell Dam. Three days later, the tired, but peppy T. H. S. Seniors returned to Tecumseh. Dreaming of what she left behind!?! Good Morning!! We graduate from Kirkwood’s school of square dancing! The educational part of the trip. -59- Home and wide awake!
