Catherine Repp Rosanne Sherman Joan Grass DeWayne Bohling As we recall our high school career there is a man who stands out again and again in our memories. Besides coaching the team, you did a wonderful job of boosting the morale of the student body in that big quiet way of yours. We can remember the way you teased the cheerleaders and your jokes on the boys during football, basketball, and track trips. They weren’t easy, those mornings in American History when you had to answer the questions yourself, but with your experienced assistance and patience we really learned a lot. With all these memories in mind, and with remembrance of your friendship and help during our high school years, we dedicate our 1954 TOMAHAWK to you, Coach Don Anderson, with deepest respect and admiration. FROM ONE CLASS ROOM TO ANOTHER Our first stop on the tour of T.H.S. is the HOME EC room where the girls of T.H.S. are learning to become future homemakers. Downstairs in the AG SHOP the boys are learning to be successful farmers. The third stop brings us to the MATH room where we find industrious students trying to solve the problems of the day. The SCIENCE room is a beehive; chemists of the future are figuring out a formula for the H-Bomb. The fifth stop is the Senior ENGLISH class where the Senior students are preparing for college entrance exams. The last stop on our tour is the TYPING room where we find future typists of business firms, in the making. Speed’s fine, I can make 20 mistakes a minute! After eating breakfast at the Union Station, we piled in to the busses and headed for our hotel. Then the educational part began. First, we visited the City National Bank, then the Board of Trade. Un t(iz cz fftz moon we toured the Ford assembly plant and the, the Plaza district (where most of us spent the rest of our money) and drove through the Nichols residential district. And then, Swope Park, an eventful afternoon. First, a monkey tried to feed a peanut to Higgins; then Mr. Adams took an “educational” train trip around Swope Park on the miniature streamliner. (He probably thought he was on the train going back to Tecumseh.) They let us all out of Swope Park and after a huge chicken dinner, we boarded the train for home. rack Pawnee City 35 Tecumseh 62 Auburn 48 Tecumseh 76 AUBURN TRIANGULAR Tecumseh 56 Nebraska City 54 Auburn 45 AUBURN RELAYS Tecumseh placed third among six schools NEBRASKA CITY INVITATIONAL Tecumseh placed fifth among fourteen schools Stinson goes over the top SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE MEET AT FALLS CITY DISTRICT TRACK MEET AT CRETE Jack Stinson broke the record in the high jump--5,10” Jack Stinson tied for first in the high jump John Higgins first in the shot put STATE TOURNAMENT Jack Stinson placed second in the high jump S'K ” B Aeball Louisville 4 Tecumseh 9 Lincoln Northeast 1 Tecumseh 1 Lincoln Northeast 7 Tecumseh 1 DISTRICT TOURNAMENT Hebron 5 Tecumseh 4 Commencement exercises were held May 20 at 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
