HISTORY Only three of the Senior class of 1937, numbering thirty-one members, started with the original class in the fall of 1924—Marjf Hurst, Jim McDougal, and Vivien Fink. No additions were made until the third grade when Erma Bailey came from Palmyra, and Wayne Piersol from Crab Orchard. Warren Bollmeier, moving from Hearst, Illinois, joined us in the fourth grade. We were in the fifth grade when there occurred the change in our school system, referred to as the shakeup. Mid-year promotion was eliminated and six students were added to the class—Margaret Radmacher, Maxine Taylor, Eleanor Stewart, Helen Hamel, Willis Ide, and Alvin Peterson. Marjorie Minner joined at this time, transferring from Elk Creek. Walter Kiechel entered from Johnson in the seventh grade. We urge the building of ever higher ideals with the confidence that these will alv;ays tend to make our school one of which we can be proud. Competing with strong teams from Li coin and Omaha, Tecumseh placed fifth. May 1—Conference Meet at Auburn. Tecumseh edged out Nebraska City, only to have the relay team disqualified, thereby dropping the school to second place. May 7—Southeast Metft at Beatrice. Against strong competition, Tecumseh won fourth place. May 14-15—State Meet at Lincoln. All lettermen qualified for this meet. Wayne Blue was outstanding, placing in all weight events for a total of eight points. As a team, Tecumseh placed fifth in Class B.
