Co. Leads School 1986-87 was a busy one for the Student Council. They were elected president of district IX which in- volved new leadership challenges. Their duties end- ed with THS presiding over the annual district meeting and presenting training workshops. Other activities revolved around service to the school such as conducting class elections, organizing the Homecoming Parade, supporting Operation Christmas and assisting with the end of school awards assembly. Perhaps the most significant achievement was to develop a training program for new class officers to help them perform their duties even more effectively during the next school year. Officers Sherry Mason, Eric Cusey, Sheila Gondos and Robert Chisholm. It must have been a good joke! 1986-1987 THS Student Council Spanish Club The Spanish Club was small but active this year, attending two con- tests. At the OBU Festival Espanol, Nov. 13, members entered posters, paintings, and Mexican and Spanish foods. Tina Oglesby placed third with her beautifully decorated and tasty Mexican cake. At the OU Pan American Day Festival, April 8, members brought home four ribbons. Tina Oglesby placed first and Amity Boland placed third with the Ojos de Dios. Jay Smith place second with his bullfighter painting. Tammie Seaton placed third in pottery. It was a fun year with several parties and activities, including an end of the year party at El Burrito. Here members said farewell to the sole senior member, and club presi- dent, Robert Chisholm. Front Row: Al Turner, Jason Couey, Sandra Matthews, Andrea Ives. However, this did not stop it from being an active program. G Sz T kept busy all year. They participated in a large-scale mock triall' competition, they represented the school well in a state-wide academic bowl, and in their sparetime, dabbled in golf and computers. Most of the credit for the group's success goes to the dedication and enthusiasm of the new sponsor, Nancy Warwick. Good job! Standing, Left to Right: E. Morgan, A. Putnam, R. Chisholm, T. Ball, J.
