They placed first in three tournaments including the Noble Invitational, Pott. County Tournament. After winning the District Tournament and proceeding to Regionals and on to Area their hopes of going to State were shattered, being defeated by Cascia Hall of Tulsa. Neal Motley, and Steve Chlouber T.H.S. FOOTBALL MAKES HISTORY The 1979 Tecumseh Savage Football Team finished the season with a record of 8 2. This was the best record for a Savage football team since 1964. The Savages were led by 16 sen- iors with 7 of them making the 1st team, All-Conference Team, or All District. These were: Rick Dossey — D.E., Neal Motley — T.E., Grant Gower — Q.B. and K., Ricky Litt leaxe — D.B., Ronnie Taylor R.B., Rick Sehon — O.T., David Tomlin- son — C., In addition, these sen- iors were on the All-District or All- Conference 2nd team or Honorable Mention. Tracey Thompson TECUMSEH WRESTLERS TAKEDOWN They won the Tecumseh tournament, placed second in the Pauls Valley Tournament, earned six medals in the conference tournament and qualified five wrestlers for the state tournament. Of those five wrestlers that competed in the State Tournament, two of them, Mathew Nix and Mike Wright earned 4th place and 3rd place medals respectively. Outstanding Seniors who completed their wrestling careers were Jimmy Wriqht, David Tomlinson, and Jimmy Fisher. ALL THE WAY DOWN! The T.H.S. Wrestling Team of 1979-80 wa young and inexperienced. At times only three c the twelve weights were filled by senior wrestlers Despite their lack of experience, the Savage wres tiers went on to have one of the most successfi teams in recent years.
