THE PROPHECY OF THE SENIORS OF 1950 by Bettye Stevenson I will set my Looktowardthefuture” machine for May 19, 1970 ------ 20 years into tomorrow. It's coming into focus and stopping at ( of all places) a circus. The sign says ''Buford Burlison Circus, Freaks our Specialty . There :s Bill Buford now taking in the money. On the bill- board it says Step right up and see the amazing triple summersault per- formed by that daredevil of the trapeze Alma Tucker ,better known a s Fearless Hurky . What do you know about that? The needle is moving now to Madison Square Garden. It looks like Gernldean Anderson (better known to us as Gerrye Eubank). She has turn- ed professional and is now the Lady Wrestling Chanpeen of the World. That reminds me of Bill Roberts. I wonder what Punchy is doing 20 years from now. The needle is swinging to-------Texas---the Shamrock Hotel1 There's Bill the ex-deadweight champion of the world. He's now retired and (well, you might know you couldn't stop Bill) is now the knitting champion. He knits the prettiest dolliesl Now instead of say- ing Got away Boids he says Knit one, Poil Two . Not far from the Shanrock is a little beanery called The Ptomaine Hash House owned by Robert and June Nelson. The sign outside says Best Hash Slung For Miles . Look who's behind the counter, Dolores (Freck) Sparkman. Of course that bathing suit she has on might not be the con- ventional uniform for a waitress but I'll bet she sure draws the trade. The needle is swinging to Hollywood where we see the exquisite home of the famous actress that took over where Lana Turner left off, Sophia Gilstrip, better known as Sophia Gilstrap. Up the street is a one-block ranch owned by the western star, Earl blessing, seen on the screen as Lope-Along Blessing with his trick horse, Shotgun . Who in the world is that coming down the street? Bill Shaw with his 10, no 12,—15» children (my how time flies!). Poor zetta, I guess that she is at home washing diapers. Lets look into the television field and see if we've any celebrities there. Sure enough here's Bettye Jackson playing the roll of Ma Perkins on television. And Jim Timmons sings,I understand. It seems that he is known as Tiny Tim and his Guitar on TV. That looks like Jerry Reeves standing in front of that burlesque show. Well, I'll be, so 'tis. The billboard says Jerry's Burlesque Theater featuring Tyra Mona, the Bubble Dancer with the Breakable Bubble . It looks to me like Tyra Mona is none other than Billie Joyce Motley. Always knew that girl would amount to something. Let's turn the dial for Marrs shall we, for you see in 20 years the planet Marrs shall be inhabited by earth people or so says that amazing genius, that second Einstein, that creator of the soleless-heeless shoes without tops, Nelson Geyer.

(Prophecy Cont') On the way the needle stops and we see Willie Mae V .lentine. ???? Now that’s an interesting occupation. Different but interesting. She takes care of the cows on the Milky Way. Bill Trostle is the owner of a swanky resort on Karrs. Sam Smith is his bartender and serves Atomic beers -«ono drink and it sets oif chain reactions. For entertainment the spotlight flashes on the swingband of Odis (Hotlips) Mondy and his torch singer Donnie (Hildeguard) Guinn. Eileen Pugg takes tickets at the Little Atom Theater on Marrs. One Jinny Miles is the proprietor. Which makes the job much easier for Eileen. Good Adams apple! Would you look at that Cadillac. It must be two blocks long. Farley Redfield (Pardon me, Mr.Lawrence Farley Redfield) is quite a business nan in South America, 1 see. He owns 15 oil wells and 2 gold mines. He has even bought the Pine Theater in Tecumseh and changed its name to the Maple Theater. Lets take just a quick glance into the future of the rest of the 1950 seniors. By gun, I’d have sworn that Bernice Patterson would be a Hone Demon - gtraticn Agent but here she is a model posing for that modern art paint- er Joan Smith who (confidentially) paints cigerette posters on the side- line. James Reeves, who pilots the space ship to Marrs also frequents Joan's studio but I don't think that its to buy a picture. Here's a picture on the screen of a hospital. Now who in the world— ---? Dr. Epple. Epple?-------Don't recall-------Oh! I know. Dr. Marlene Trice Epple! The first woman doctor to hit Marrs. The next picture shows Glen DeWeber sitting behind a desk narked President! The president of the nuttiest nut factory for miles. Zella Stark is touring the country lecturing on her latest book How to Trap and Tane a Husband In 10 Easy Lessons . It looks like she should go see Petty J-o Stewart who runs the Oddles of Poodles pet shop. Betty is a confirmed spinster. Carl and Rosa Stubblefield (Mrs. Stubblefield is the former Rosa Davis) are living in a penthouse on Park Avenue. It seems that Carl struck it rich at poker. Always was lucky. Janes West and Bruce Gilmore were always good friends, lets see what they are doing. Jest has written a new dictionary conposed com- pletely of words that aren’t allowed to be used over the radio and Bruce is training for the sixth consecutive year to swin the English Channel, flvays did think that Druce had water on the brain. OL well, perhaps this year he'll make it,.
