To the Students of T.H.S. THE ART OF GETTING ALONG Sooner or later a student discovers that school life is a mixture of good days and bad, victory and defeat, give and take. He learns that it doesn’t pay co be- a sensitiva soul----that he should let some things go over hi;, head like water off a duck's back. He learns that all students sufier :.efoat now and then, but that he shouldn't take it seriously. , w - —wvwvuiv. UiJUOpuxJi AO to carry cales and gossip about others. He learns that it doesn't mat- ter who gets the credit as long as the school profits. Ho learns that buck passing elways turns out to be a boomerang, and that it never pays. He come3 to realize that the school could run perfectly well without him. He learns that it doesn't do any harm to smile and say, Good morning oven if it is raining. He learns that most of the other fellows are as ambitious as he is, that they have brains that are as good or better, and tha« hard work ard r.ot cleverness is the secret of success. He learns to sympathiae with the younger, students-coning into the school because he remenoers how bewildered he was when he first started out. u u w UvWQUiJC ICIlUtl Uu0 shown that if he always tries his hardest his average will break pretty well. He finds that his teachers are not monsters, but they are usually fine men and women who have succeeded through hard work, and who only want to do the right thing. He learns that the gang is not any harder to get along with in one place than another and that getting along depends about 98 percent on his own behavior. To those who will this year complete their work here at Tecumseh High School, and to those who have happy school days ahead, we of the Student Council hope that you have learned among other things— the art of get- ting along. on his shoulder.
