IJEIJICFITIUII WK. L'l'w'NL VN. Wlllclt llll. Xl. l 1KlNM IVIINVNPTY C, ITH the advent of full-time guidance service in the high schools of Buffalo, Technical High School has not been neglected during 1949-1950. The construwtinn of pri- vate offices from the classroom 102, the development of oc- cupational files, and the new collection of college catalogs are testimony to the preparation for the program. But the appointment of counselors, competent to carry on the respon- sibilities of this new educational service, merit brief bi- ographical sketches. Dr. M. Irving Chriswell, Tech alumnus of 1921 and In- structor in Mathematics since 1927, is now a full-time coun- selor. In 1936 he received his doctorate in GUIDANCE and EDUCATIONAL STATISTICS from the University of Buffalo. Gui- dance, personnel work and psychological testing have long been his avocation. With the new emphasis on group guidance his recent efforts in organizing the new Student Council are attracting the attention of other high school student lead- ers. Eugene W. Boller, Tech alumnus of 1918 and Instructor in Drafting since 1920, is our other full-time counselor. Mr. Boller succeeded Calvin Bishop as the school placement officer and his many valuable contacts with personnel men ln industry and former Tech grads in supervisory capacities ad- mlrahly fit him as the School's necessary link with the The the ive world of employment. His experience as executive ln Evening School War-Training VY'f1s1ram and as instructor in OVERSEAS WAH DEPARTMENT PHUMHAM contribute to his effect handling of vocational advisory problems. His lone-time as- sociations with Kappa Siu are well known to Wye olde grads.
