With Related Journalism, Speech Courses The English curriculum includes more than awkward adjectives and pesky participles. Besides the basic English problems Tech English students learn to express themselves in themes and term papers and to enjoy prose and poetry. A typical sophomore English class studies world literature, Silas M arner, and Shake- speare's Julius Ceasar. Juniors may study Our Town, The Yearllug, The Red Badge of Courage, or The House of Seven Gables as ex- amples of American Literature. The senior classes read British literature with emphasis placed on M acbeth. All seniors are required to write a term paper. Many juniors, in addition to their English class, take journalism. It has been stated by many that every- thing in the World pertains to sciencegin some Way. This appears to be the reason Why the American public-statesmen, scientists, teachers, and everybody in general-has been clamoring for more science study in our schools. Tech has always had a strong science department, but in the past year, through the hard Work and effort of the science teachers it has been improved many times over.
