At that time a group of students who believed that writing was fun organized into a club with Miss Stovrinu' as adviser The first vear the Technrcana the first literary magazine in our school was published The title of the magazine follows the style established by other Tech publications the policy of adopting Technical in the name By using the first two syllables and the Greek term fo miscellaneous literary scraps ana a name was Colned Looking, ox er the new Technicana To widen the scope of the club the Scribes last year became publishers rather than a literary group This change was effected rn order that all Tecn students could submit manu scripts to Technrcana thereby encouraging the students to become sound writers and to provide the thrill that eyery scribe experiences the first time he sees his writing in the pr rnted form The Scribes have been fortunate publishers since the average number of manuscripts submitted for publication have exceeded bythree fourths the number sele ted This is a healthy condition that should never wane for as the publication acquires prestige and tradition the Scribes will be able to edit for Techites a better magazine Vmawf' Row 3 Yyonnc Engle Made-lyn Werhrauck Joyce Ruegermcr Frances Van Drest Twyla Busse Margaret Marek Row 2 Brenda Gulbrandson Bonnie Pallies Gall Grewe Pat Prku Beverly Bormes Row 1 Marylou McDowal1 Janet Koehn Miss Stoyring adrrser Thaspena Gaples Rita Schrxefels 81 -.
