Page 24 UHllMli'I'RY Chemistry was an enjoyable experience to those who took it but for those of us who were just out- siders it was a course of horrible odors, bunsen burners, and experiments which sometimes resulted in minor explosions. Who could ever forget the day when no one would venture near the labora- tory, except the poor students Who had class the next period, and every one from the basement to the third floor held their noses to keep from smelling the sulphur and hydrogen gas? AGRIUULTURE Because of the number of students in Tech who were vitally interested in agriculture, it was added this year to the list of courses offered. Many of the students taking it are applying it directly on their own farms, others are gaining the knowledge for future use or are just interested in how to run a farm. The boys carry on experiments in raising poultry and livestock. Field trips are made to study farming in different localities. Mr. 0'Connell in ii Mr. O'Connell and class Carl Baches is one of the many agriculture students who is putting his knowledge to use on his own farm. This farm is typical of the farms that the agriculture students hope some day to own and run for themselves. Page 26
