In this 1935 Techoes, the editors have endeavored to show the stages children go through in both work and play from kindergarten through high school. The art work on the end sheet also uses this theme. One side is devoted to the progress of the child in work from babyhood to high school graduation. The other side portrays the recrea- tions children participate in while attending school. The book itself is divided into two parts. In the first part, pictures of classes and faculty, and snaps of school work show the work side of edu- cation at Technical High School. The second half emphasizes play, and con- tains snapshots of clubs, sports, and recreational school events, likewise necessary to the education of a high school student. , C fontent XX Iorlc FacLJty CflJSSCS Studies Play fxctivitics Clubs Sports S tx. -1 ....,'-v L, mg 111 xx iff? 'X ' I QHHIH 1-,, RVN' S9 UI? f 1, To the Technical High School Seniors: The schools of today with their multiplicity of courses and numerous activities are the result of the thoughtful planning of yesterday. Three hundred years in the life of an organiza- tion, an institution, or government may mark but the beginning. The high schools of today offer the opportuni- ties that they do because those who have lived be- fore Were willing to plan and sacrifice. The high schools in the years to come will achieve success in proportion to the continued effort and sacrifice that those who are now students are willing to make for its continuance. I congratulate you upon your completion of the high school course and upon the opportunity to share in the continuance of such an institution. Sincerely yours, H. B. Clough, Superintendent To the Class of 1935: Greetings and congratulations! Your class year marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of the first American high school. We look back on that event today as a unique achievement, and you are debtors to the pioneers whose foresight and vision made your high school possible. I hope that your high school training is but the beginning of a liberal education which will broaden and deepen as your interests grow. My best wishes for your success. Elizabeth Clark. a certaln quota of famllles the movement for secondary educatlon spread throughout the colonles In the Mlddle Colonles the parochlal school almlng to develop both the needs of the church and the state
