Ron Goldstein On January 29, 1965, our school lost one of the best counselors Tech has ever had, Mr. David H. Reed. Tech will always be grateful to a man who really helped our school in many ways. Every one who is connected with Tech was very unhappy to see a good man leave. Mr. Reid was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio. A few years later his family moved to Steubenville, Ohio, and then to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He attended Collegiate Preparatory School in Hamilton. At Springfield College, he received a B.S. degree. Mr. Reid obtained a Masters’ Degree at the University of Massachusetts. His first job was being a Recreation Director at Massachusetts Mu tual. Then he went to Central High School as a Physical Educa- tion teacher and a coach of football. Mr. Reid transferred to Commerce High School and taught Biology and Chemistry. In 1943, Mr. Reid came to Technical High School to teach in our Chemistry Department. In 1954, he became a counselor. During the past years at Tech, Mr. Reid was the manager of Black Cat Fiesta, which was once held here annually. He was advisor for several graduating classes.
