As you turn the pages one by one you will discover an exciting array of color, pictures, cartoons, and witty captions. The staff mottos for the past year have been: “Something different”, and “something for you.” The theme of the Yearbook centers around the jargon of teenagers, the life of the stu- dents, and Tech, the school we will repre- sent the rest of our lives. Color, something new and unexplored by past Tiger Staffs, has been added for your enjoyment. The freshmen have a section all their own, complete with pictures of their homerooms, their class officers, their class advisors, and candids of their activities. The Juniors are never forgotten in the eyes of Seniors, because the following year they will become the directorate of the school. They also have a complete section in the yearbook. The Seniors, leaders of the school, receive their yearbook as a final remembrance of their three glorious years at Tech. In it are the sports they’ve participated in, their prin- cipals and guidance staff, their officers, ad- visors, and graduation, their dances, good times, and in general their school, the one they honor and respect. Here is your Yearbook; we hope you will agree that our goal has been achieved. Page 3 ie py those profs spot PRINC Mr. Melvin A. Mr. Wendell Burr ™nMPHaAMH LOZCr Page 25 a WARNER AUDREY ANN KEATING Outstanding in school citizenship, service and scholarship — this is a rigorous standard by which the Warner Achievement Awards Committee measures and selects two Seniors to receive the Warner Medals each year. Audrey Ann Keating, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Girard F. Keating of 127 Aldrew Terrace, is one of the winners. Her greatest contribution during her three years at Tech has been in the area of class activities. Her quiet efficiency and willingness to take on any job, small or large, in the interests of her class and school, have marked her as the highest type of school citizen. She has not confined her activities to Tech alone, serving on the Inter-City Junior Red Cross Council and the Inter-City Nisimaha Council, carrying out the duties of secretary her freshman year and president for the current year. Our congratulations to Audrey as she joins the select group of Warner Achieve- ment winners. ACHIEVEMENT JAMES A. DISANTI Outstanding in school citizenship, service, and scholarship — the second winner, James A. DiSanti, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony DiSanti of 17 Middlebrook Drive. Jim’s greatest contribution in his three years at Tech has been the unusually fine type of leadership that he has shown in the work of the Student Council. A three-year member of this elective, student government group and president his Senior year, Jim has given the sort of leadership that commands the respect of both students and faculty. In class affairs, Jim was president his Freshman year, vice-president his Junior year, and a member of the Senior Class Council for three years. He also has made a fine record on the Student Patrol, serving as a lieutenant during his Junior year and captain this year. Our congratulations to Jim as he joins the select group of Warner Achieve- ment winners. Page 79 ae Well, here we are! The day that we’ve been looking forward to for three years has finally arrived. We’re putting on those long robes and square hats with the bouncing tassel. We’ve just to walk up those stairs to the stage, to reach out, and to grab that beautiful, white diploma. Remember when we were freshmen? Doesn’t that seem ages ago? Jimmy Di- Santi was President, and Marcia Balaban was Vice President. Who was Secretary? Oh, yes, Audrey Keating. And Jude Bernard was Treasurer. Remember our first dance? “Moonlight Magic,” we called it. There was a big hat in the middle with sparkly cloth coming out like a real magician’s hat. During our junior year, Ed Williams was President, Jimmy DiSanti was Vice President, Roberta Roberts was Secretary, and Jan Balland was Treasurer. We had two dances. The fall dance, named “Autumn Holiday,” was decorated with live cornstalks and leaves strewn here, there, and all over. For our Junior Prom, dubbed “Moments To Remember,” we fashioned a fountain with feathers as fall- ing water. This year with Ed Williams again as President, Joe Roccisano, Vice President, Roberta Roberts, Secretary, and Jan Balland, Treasurer, we had three dances. Who can forget “E-EEK” with the witch brewing bubbles, or the Senior Prom? Yes, here we are! Oh! Excuse me a moment while I get my diploma . je ° e 2 ( A VU A f = f A j 1 | (4 en ay f te | 4 wi pe Me po Cw al as ut — = a ee : SEES — et Cot: MN OOO cc 05S 8 BM from nowhere Collins, schini. JUNIOR _ LEFT TO RIGHT: Miss Barton, Mr. Snow, Miss Mastrangelo. LEFT TO RIGHT: Joseph Geurtin, Judy Di- Santi, Robert Savoy, Judy Cowles. The class of ’58 really started this year in high gear. With such capable officers as Bob Savoy, Joe Geurtin, Judy DiSanti, and Judy Cowles as ‘president, vice-presi- dent, secretary, and treasurer respectively, this class really got things done. The first class meeting was held in Oc- tober and was closely followed by the Junior Dance in November. Members of the class of ’58 threw themselves into the job of making Starlight Serenade one of the most beautiful and memorable dances in Tech’s history. The class of °58 accomplished a great deal. It in- troduced the new and modern school rings to the school, and created a beautiful class banner using the colors cho- sen by the class in January. The Junior class was well represented in S.A. and on the Honor. Roll. The Junior Prom was the crowning glory of a very successful year. The class of 58 will remember their Jun- ior year for many years and Tech will remember the class of ’58 as the most lively and industrious class in many years.
