Editor-in-Chief THE TECH TIGEL Tech Life No other term of Tech Life has been so unique and interesting as that of this semester The paper started off with a handicap because it had failed financially the preceding semester The paper could go on only if assured of proper support Two members of the former staff Stanlev Fllllon and Elbert Blackburn carefully O1 ganlzed a campaign for subscr 1p tions The result was 826 paid subscriptions 100 more than any term pr ex ious This enabled the business staff to work with half as many ads and thus gixe the school more reading mater ral For the first time in four semesters the paper IS paying tor itself and making' money The literary staff has livened up the news with colorful writing and has brought the standard of Tech Life up to where it ought to be. After that things began to happen. The Tech coaches changed the lineup and a diffei ent team faced Centl al swamping them by the ox erwhelming score of 50-27. Commerce fell as easily by the one-sided score of 40-77. Thus Tech won its fifth suc- cessive Interschool Championship. In a post-season game with the Horace NIEIIIII School, champions of New York City, played in Springfield, Tech defeated the quintet from the metropolis by the score of 37-24. Tech won 14 games, lost three, and tied the college varsity freshmen in an overtime game.
