It is a time of renewing old friendships and of making new friends. It is a beginning! Fall is bonfires.initiations and harvest. No! That ' s not it at all. What have they done to Coach Kiser?! ! ! (m) inter Winter brings snow to the town be¬ tween the mountains. By this time, a school daytoTHS students is very routine and causes very little excitement. How¬ ever, the first snow brings not only late buses and cold, rosy-cheeked students, but thoughts of the approaching Christmas vacation and, in the backs of their minds, thoughts of the mid-term exams. Winter combines gaiety with dread in the halls of THS. Spring, with its blossoming trees and flowers and its pleasant warm days, is to many a beginning. To THS students it signifies the beginn¬ ing of the end of another school year. Spring brings Easter Vacation and a relief from hard study. To many students it brings the familiar spring fever. All in all, spring is life to the corridors of Tazewell High School. cS )pnna Now really! No one falls asleep at Spring? The new ele men tar y And the same thing happens to the the Prom. school?! ! birds and the bees. 6 Summer brings the end of another school year at THS. To many Seniors, it is the end of five years of hard study, fun, friends, and activiti es . In any case, summer brings blue skies and clear, blue waters as the students of THS flock to the beaches, camps, vacation spots and join in numerous other summertime activities. Summer is the time of fun before another year of hard work. Hey! Wait for me! ! ! ! ! ! uminer ' .Mill c Jincere y Dedicatee . . . THE PEAK of 1964 is proudly dedicated to one who tries to instill in us the desire to search for knowledge and to develop our minds to the fullest extent; to one who teaches us the basic principles of grammar in both French and English; to one who is helpful to and considerate of all those around her; to one of the many who are helping us along the path toward our goals in life. We the annual staff, sincerely dedicate this edition of THE PEAK to Mrs. Eleanor Smith. 10 Apprenez les temps primitifs et derives des verbes partir, rire, et eroire. Mrs. Smith is always very helpful to members of the annual staff. 11 fciV-r ' i. Mr. J. L. Themes, layouts, pictures, schedules, dead¬ lines—just plain hard work is the way they spend their time. Also, the club ' s aim is to provide a professional organization for students. The students must work well, keep up their grades in all classes, and attend local, state, and, if they ' re lucky, national conventions which are held each year.
