The band members enjoyed the trips to the out-of- town games. The journey home proved to be a time for relaxing and having an enjoyable time. FOREWORD When in the course of another year, it becomes necessary for the Senior Class of 1963 to present the nineteenth edition of THE PEAK, to say goodbye to the halls of Tazewell High School, the kind and loyal teachers, and the thrill of our senior year, a sincere regard for our fellow students require that we should present our yearbook with our most sincere and best wishes. And for the successful com¬ pletion and reception of this volume, with a firm belief in and reliance on our Creator, we hereby pledge to ourselves and our high school, our Hopes, our Willingness to Work, and our belief in Taze¬ well High School. Our assembly programs were varied. Some were informative, others were entertaining, and still others were religious presentations. All of them were useful in building a well-rounded personality.

. In Appreciation . . . In such a few words it is totally impossible to express our regard and gratefulness to one who has given so fully and unselfishly of time, patience, and self. He has corrected our mistakes in class, directed us on our way, and helped us in every possible way. Many of his own personal hours were spent coaching our plays, selling tickets for the games, and helping our many endeavors. When only one quiet moment would have seemed like heaven, he was ready to come to bat for any of us, student or teacher. To one who has helped so greatly and deserves so much in return, we, the annual staff of 1963, dedicate this printing of THE PEAK to Mr. Howard Crouch. 6
