foezzcer Qual? J oar Of 0QICdbbI2 STANDING: Mr. Carroll D. Henry, Mr. Winford Sweazy, Mr. J. T. Johnson. SEATED: Mrs. Lillian Bryant, Mr. John Carrithers, Chair- man of the Boardg Mr. Barkley Walker, Superintendent. Responsible for the administration of Taylorsville schools is the Spencer County Board of Education. They keep the sys- tem in accord with the requirements of the community, Ken- tucky law, and the State Board of Education. We at THS hardly recognize the importance of Board func- tions as they do their work quietly, behind the scenes. One very large job this group does is study the curriculum, to make certain that our courses and course of f e rin g s are kept up-to- date. A nother duty is having repairs made, rooms painted, and equipment regularly checked. Still a third responsibility is the preparation of the complex budget for the financial ad- ministration of the school system. A member of the Board of Education gets little recognition for many hours dedicatingly spent . We at THS want to say thank you for the major role you have played in our education and our future. 42
