TITANS PLACE EIGHTH IN SHORTRIDGE MEET Varsity Cross Country, Front Row: Bob Bagwell, Brad Webber, Dick Williams, Tony Gabriel, Randy Sellers, and Reg Barth. Back Row: Coach Bond, Pete Baker, Keith Myers, Rod Mason, The 1969 Titan Harriers scampered to the best record yet compiled by the squad. Lots of effort and determination were shown as the team sparkled with an eighth place showing in the Shortridge Invitational. Randy Sellers and Tony Gabriel led the way to several victories. Sellers was named the outstanding runner as he compiled the best times ever for Taylor. The future of Taylor ' s cross country stature is brighter as we lost only one letterman, Reg Barth. Reg has led the team for two years and his contributions to the team were always remarkable and will be missed. Roscoe Sparling, Jerry Eckert, Tim Gillespie, and Mgr. Jones. TITAN MAT SUCCESS CONTINUES ON Varsity Wrestling: Front Row: Bruce Curry, Rusty Manning, Bob Sundberg, Phil Johnston, Steve Anderson, Randy Russell, Scott Pitcher. Second Row: Coach Ward, Mark Pochon, Bob Bonner, Jerry Piatt, Jim Brenton, Mike Perry, Tim Moorcroft. Third Row: John Adair, Randy Troxell, Dale Babb, Randy Brantley, Wendell Beals. Fourth Row: Jerry Eckert, Mike Padgett, Henry Taylor, Richard Sampson. Taylor ' s varsity grapplers, under new head coach Mike Ward, fought their way to a fine 8-3-1 record this season. The Titans were led by Jim Brenton and Mike Perry as both earned fine individual records. Steve Anderson was the Titans ' strongpoint as he finished second in the sectional. The Titans also came up with sparkling perform- ances in victories over fierce competition. A third place at the Western Invitational proved to be the highlight of the year. The future looks bright for Taylor as wrestling seems to be the coming sport at THS.
