Paul Eckert brought honor to the Science Club this year by winning a first place at the Science Fair in the junior biological division. He was also awarded the Jesse award, which is given to the Science Club member who places highest in the Science Fair. The Jesse award is one of the rubber chickens that adorned the prize-winning homecoming float that the club built. This prize was named after one of the school ' s illustrious science teachers, Mr. Jesse Windlow. As a money making project this year, FHA had a bake sale at two of the shopping centers. Besides making money, they went to Indianapolis to see the movie Hello Dolly . Afterwards, they ate supper at a Chinese Restuarant. FUTURE SECRETARIES— FIRST ROW: M. Gibson, J. Jones, L. Hanley, J. Smith, Mr. Cronk, sponsor. ...BE SCIENTIFIC FTA attended many schools this year. S everal members attended the area conference at Indian Creek High School and took a tour of Notre Dame campus. Most of the members attended the annual State Convention at Ben Davis High School. This was a fine opportunity to learn more about the teaching profession. To the delight of the students, FTA members took over the administration for a day, along with the Student Council. As a chapter of the National Secretaries Association, FSA visited the research department and observed the responsibilities of a secretary at Delco Radio Engi- neering Plant. FSA also visited other business places to help the members better understand the business world and to promote an interest in the secretarial profession. SCIENCE CLUB— FIRST ROW: M. Pochon, R. ...CREATE The Art Club sponsored its first annual Art Show this year. At the Art Show, members sold jewelry which they made. Art Club also sponsored an abstract picture contest.
