...THROW STONES Jody Frazier prepares an article for the school newspaper. Throwing stones is just what the Onlooker staff did this year. Besides throwning fun and criticism at the students and faculty, they also had their April Fool fun with the junior high. They published an article that Taylor High School would not be in existence next year because of lack of money. The staff grew in size this year by having a junior staff which will take over as editors from the senior staff. The staff was given special room for the first time this year. The paper itself also grew in size, in that it was published bi-weekly instead of monthly. During first semester the staff was relieved of publishing an issue of the paper so the journalism class could publish it for their final test. Fritz Foster was honored by the Kokomo Tribune as an outstanding staffer. He was selected by the Onlooker staff and was awarded a plaque for this achievement. ONLOOKER— FIRST ROW: M. Moorcroft, R. THIRD ROW: G. Surber, S. Wooley, S. Maple, K. Badham. ...EXPAND The high school student council expanded in many di- rections this year. They were very successful in opening a student lounge with a coke machine for the students. All profits from the machine went to the clubs. The student council gave honor to Taylor this year by starting a foreign exchange student program with the International Fellowship Program. By being in this program Taylor had two South American students visit and sent Jeff Kellar, Sherri Richmond, Vickie Taylor, and Linda Wooley to South America during the summer. At our first annual Football Homecoming, the student council planned the parade and the graduate reception. After the game, they sponsored the homecoming dance. During National Education Week, they sponsored a Student Government Day. Student council members filled the administration positions and FTA members taught classes for a day. The student council started the Howard County In- terschool Student Council for all county high schools. This began the year for a High School Exchange Student Day where student council members of all six high schools visited the other schools. Two members of the student council, Jeff Kirk and Cindy McMullen, were sent to the Indiana Universi- ty Student Council Workshop. The members also at- tended the State Student Council Convention. They helped the 8th graders out this year by sponsoring a convocation to introduce the high school clubs to them. The junior high student council helped the high school student council by sponsoring a Valentines Dance and gave the profits to the foreign exchange student program. As their last project, the high school student council sponsored the first MORP — a backward dance. JR. HIGH STUDENT COUNCIL— FIRST ROW: Mr. Short, sponsor; J. Palmby, R. Holf, P. Manning, P.
