NEW ADDITION ADDED TO TAYLOR ' S LIBRARY The Taylor High School library has experienced sev- eral major changes. Last summer, the wall between the library and Titan Hall was removed and this enlarged the library considerably. This area is now used for housing reference and nonfiction books. Fiction books are located in the center, with periodicals in the south- west. New carpeting and lounge chairs for the maga- zine area added more comfort for those students who read periodicals. During the summer months about 50 new books were added to the library. This does not include the 300 books which were donated by the Tipton Public Library. The library also has new tables and booth style study carrels, which allow students to study individually. Dick Williams chooses from the many magazines available to the students.

BASICS OF FIRST AID Jeff Kirk increases his ability in broad jump. This year Miss Oyler conducted the ninth grade health classes. The girls made an attempt in first aid and home nursing. Various students in the class were made hypothetical victims and were bandaged from head to toe. Miss Bennett taught eighth, ninth, and tenth grade P.E. classes. The classes consisted of gymnastics, and six weeks of bowling. The gym department this year received new modern dance records, which was included in the courses. Eighth grade students learn the importance of the eye in health.
