Rocio acquaints Ann and Liz with her country, Ecuador. FOREIGN EXCHANGE This past year has been a great time for Taylor and our foreign exchange students. Andr6s Jacobi arrived from Brazil, December 18, 1969, and stayed for three months as a temporary member of the Norwich family. Studying to be an electrical engineer, Andres subjects included: chemistry, government, 20th century problems, English, biology, and physics. Arriving in February, Rocio Ramos found the Unit- ed States quite different from her country, Ecuador. In Ecuador, you buy your material and have a tailor make your clothes. While living here, Rocio learned one of America ' s past times, sewing. Foreign exchange students and their dates, enjoy dinner with the Norwich family. Andres Jacobi, takes advantage of a form of American entertain- ment. r irr fl m V ' flP The Student Council sponsors a party for Rocio and Andres.

The Class of 70 thought the ideal gift that the Junior Class could give was the Junior-Senior Reception and it ' s big success. It was held on May 9, at the United Steel Workers Hall. The reception lasted from 6:30 to 1:00. Dancing began at 9:00 and the music was provided by the Townsmen. The theme of the reception was Drifting and Dreaming. The theme was promoted by the decora- tions of blue and white with silver stars covering the walls. Randy Brantley, Junior Class President read the welcome and Secretary Cindy Brown gave the invoca- tion. Vice-President Brad Webber gave the prophecies, and the Senior Class Vice-President, Bruce Curry, read the wills. The main highlight of the evening was the announc- ing of the Starlight Couple, seniors Ann Maple and Pat Richards. Ann was presented with a charm bracelet and Pat was given a key-chain. They then led the next dance which was dedicated to the Senior Class. ... J k 2 wi .2mSl Linda Garrard and Lawrence Crowder enjoy small talk as they dine by candle light.
