EDITOR ' S NOTE The 1970 Helio Staff has closed another year of good times, and our task is finished; the last deadline is met. As staff members, we experienced depressing moments and could have easily given up, but we kept in mind that the toil was for our school and worked even harder. Speaking on behalf of the entire staff, I would like to express our appreciation to the three people whose help we could not do without. Many thanks go to Mr. Jerry Lamberson for his encouragement and generous advisorship. Mr. Larry Glaze of Paragon Yearbooks also receives much recognition from the staff for the time he spared to help teach new staffers and advise others. We are also grateful to Mr. Ted Hitz of Adams- Hitz Studio for his cooperation in taking our senior portraits and organization pictures. 1970 HELIO STAFF My deepest appreciation goes to my assistant, Pat Smith. She was extremely devoted to her work on the senior section and was always willing to help me with my responsibilities. Charlie Wolf, our photographer, was very dependable and spared much of his free time to take pictures. As a beginning photographer, he showed much talent. Our 14-member staff had eight beginners. Each ma- tured throughout the year by learning to accept re- sponsibilities. As a whole, we are bound with lasting friendships even though we must part. I would like to thank the staff for their readiness to volunteer many hours towards making the 1970 Helio. Working with you was more than a pleasure and will always be remembered. Headlines are 36 point Bodoni Bold, copy blocks and captions are 10 and 8 point Bodoni, respectively. The opening section contains five 4-color reproduc- tions using transparencies. The cover was manufac- tured by S. K. Smith Co. Chicago and incorporates a silver metal applique, with a black overtone and red applied to the name and the embossed backbone.

The best days of our lives are when we are in high school. After four years of hard work, it comes to a close for all of us. In the years ahead each of us will recall our achievements during our high school days.
