SENIOR CLASS LEAVES VICTORY BELL Gregory Eugene Foust, President Bruce Edward Curry, Vice Pres. Patricia Elaine Smith, Secretary Senior class sponsors Jerry Lamberson, Linda Donelson, and Ray Richardson. The senior class of 1970 has been the most active and progressive class yet. In the niidst of meeting gradua- tion requirements and college admission deadlines, the seniors managed to work in a lot of fun and excite- ment. In December the class sponsored the annual Christmas Dance. The dance was opened to high school student body and the music was provided by the Lost Souls. Early in Feburary of 1970 several se- niors were excused from school to go to Indianapolis to meet President Richard Nixon. They also saw Mrs. Nixon, Governor Edgar Whitcomb, and Indianapolis Mayor Richard Lugar. Members of the class of 1970 were the honored guests at the annual Junior-Senior Reception. The dance, sponsored by the junior class, was held at the United Steelworkers Union Hall and the Townsmen provided the music. Just before graduation the administration gave the seniors a free day. This Senior Day was held outside behind the school building. The seniors participated in games of Softball, volleyball, tug-of-war, dodgeball, sack races, and pie eating contests. Hotdogs, chips, and soft drinks were served for lunch. Traditionally, each graduating class leaves a gift to the school. The class of ' 70 is having an entrance gate to the football field and a victory bell erected. Con- struction should be finished by August and a dedica- tion will be held at that time.

Diplomas in hands, the Class of ' 70 turn their tassles and receive a standing ovation from parents, teachers, and friends. Graduating seniors wait to be called up to receive their long awaited diplomas. Roudebush advises seniors, Fix a goal . . . aim high ... set out to achieve it . . . and you will.
