1 Long Awaited Graduation Brings With Happiness is being a senior . . . especially one of the very first. Being the first class to graduate puts a lot of pride and responsibility upon the seniors. It is the first class who sets traditions and ex- amples for the other classes to follow. It is the first class who helps to build a name for its school so that the other classes will be proud to uphold it. The members of the class of ' 69 have done many things along the course of their high school years as first class . It was their responsibility to select the style of class rings and sweaters which are now proudly displayed by underclassmen as well as seniors. The class of ' 69 was also responsible for the designing of the school seal and the selection of graduation robes to be used also as choir robes. Eligible mem- bers of this class were also the first to be initiated into Taylor ' s first National Honor Society and the first to initiate new members. This year alone the seniors have had a Christmas dance, a graduation dance, and were guests at a Ju- nior-Senior Reception given them by the Juniors. The senior girls Eilso participated in Taylor ' s first powder puff football game which will probably be a tradition followed in future years. Honors Day program is a precedent that other classes will also follow. This year after the program eiU the graduat- ing seniors went out to eat. Graduation exercises will also be conducted in ai similar manner in years to come as the first class. The seniors this year were proud to have as their commencement speaker the well-known Senator Birch Bayh. At the close of the year the seniors went on an outing and had a class party. The class also left to the school an American flag in each class room, and a school flag. The first class to graduate is a very importcint class and one that will be remembered.
