TACOHI Published by the Students of TAYLOR COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL PERRY, FLORIDA Twenty-Fifth Edition 1967 To Everything There is a Time . . These are the young years, the fruitful years when time means only the day after tomorrow. These are the years of wistful-eyed beings with tender dreams, but youth is brutal as well as tender, and youth is reality as well as a dream. A flower blooms and fades and blows away-- and blooms again, according to the season; and in like manner youth exists from spring to spring, for to everything there is a time. 1967 Tacohi Contents Administration Organizations Sports Features Classes Advertisements 3 A Time For Living . . . Gone are the pharoahs, the Homers, the Michelangelos. And in their places are politicians, Bob Dylans, and Picassos. This is life—the everchanging pattern that renews itself in strange and varied ways. The youth of today will pilot the rockets and drop the bombs and sign the treaties. But until then, live life to your fullest, youth. This laughing time of parties, and ball games is the spring of your life, soon to be replaced by summer and autumn and... Remember, youth, that now is a time for living... 4 A Time to Laugh . . . and a Time to Cry . . . Both joy and sorrow are necessary for a full life. For an excess of either will distort one’s thinking. They are the salt and pepper that season a constant diet of meat and potatoes. Both are human and justifiable. So, take time to laugh, and when necessary, a time to cry, too. 1 5 A Time For Work — And A Time For Play . . . Modern education attempts two things--to place a healthy mind in a healthy body. Geometry, Spanish and Chemistry will con- dition the mind to think, to make decisions, to act. The latter is accomplished through competitive sports, which offer a chance to work with others and understand them at the same time. However, life is not a matter of all study or one big long base- ball game. Work and play must interact with one another to fashion character. And while that character is still being fashioned, make time to study and take time to play.... 6 And, There is a Time For Giving . . . Mrs. Marjorie Woodell Dedication During the past several years, Mrs. Woodell has truly given her all to the students of TCHS. She has given her time helping with senior class projects; her knowledge in teaching them; but above all, her love. For these reasons, we, the 1967 annual staff proudly dedicate this edition of the TACOHI to Mrs, Marjorie Woodell, she who has taken the time to give. 9 - • + mJPI . • - 7 .' IRIS DEE WALKER HOMER STARLING Guidance Counselors As everyone knows, time is a precious thing.. .something that is swift and often un- noticed. But these teachers and advisors attempt every day in the short time allotted them to try and add a bit of knowledge or to shape a character. Theirs is a thankless task and a never ending one. For they are fighting against time, when the youth en- trusted into their hands are hurled into the world. Then only can the true fruits of their efforts be revealed. 17 MRS. I, Mary Helen York, do leave my ability to get into predicaments that I can't get out of, to my cousin, Linda Snyder. 1, Dolores Young, will to my brother, Glen, my ability to make people think I'm concentrating, when I'm really on cloud nine. 1, Theresa Young, do leave to Ann O. and Susan H. my ability to put my foot in my mouth. 1, Buddy Murphy, will my ability to pass without really trying to Tina and my jeep. I, Larry Williams, leave the sled to Joe Christopher. 148 Senior Directory FELIX MOLTON ADAMS Band 1; Drama Club 4. PAMELA DIANE ADAMS PAM FHA 1; Chorus 1; Civil Air Patrol; Drama Club 3, 4.
