674154 ,Molory In 1950 seventy frlghtened Freshmen entered Taylor County H1gh School to begln an educat1on that would carry them 1nto the golden years of the future M155 Plke and M155 Sanders were chosen as our sponsors Our Freshman play Henry s Mall Order W1fe g1ven as a Chapel program made a great h1t Dur1ng our Freshman year the follow1ng students dropped out Annelle Bault Raymond Bryant Russell Close Earl F1sher George Dav1s Betty Ford Mary Hudson Betty lmman Jane Morgan Phylhs P1ke Susan Underwood Nelhe Wagner and Joyce VVh1tley Our Sophomore year started out w1th the enrollment of 6 new students Bobby Hunt Lenuel Sm1th Russell Wheeler Sarah Bland Peggy Clark and Jo Ann Cowherd Altogether our second year passed rather smoothly Th1s year our play was B1lly's F1rst Date whrch made a b1g h1t w1th the school and faculty M155 P11-ce ass1sted by Mr J G McAnelly was our Sophomore sponsor then upon Mr McAnelly's res1gnat1on Mr Walter Cooper became co sponsor Dur1ng our Sophomore year the followlng dropped out Johnny Allen J R Bohanon Bobby Rucker, Edd1e Rhodes Bllly Rout1n Eur1Jah Sublett Arbell Hall Russell Wheeler Louven1a Lane Ruth M1lls Jamce Turner and Bobby Blakeman In our Jumor year we pr1ded ourselves 1n hav1ng reached the role of upper classmen We started out th1s year w1th a enrollment of 52 w1th 6 new students M1na Hash Mary Lynn M1ller Phyllus Baker Bobby Ga1nes J1mmy Newton and Abby Hall Our class play th1s year was H1llb1lly Wedd1ng a three act comedy Under the d1rect1on of our sponsors we gave three per formances of th1s play an afternoon matlnee and Z n1ght performances Another b1g event of our Junlor year was the banquet g1ven 1n hon r of the sen1ors before us The Merry C10 Round of L1fe served as the theme for the banquet The b1g event of the evenlng was the crown1ng of the Klng and Queen of T C H S for 1953 Th1s lucky couple was M1ss Mary Lou RIVCIS and Mr L C Mann Mr L B Cox Pr1nc1pal d1d us the honor of crown1ng the K1ng and Queen Those who dropped out our Junlor year were Bobby Ga1nes Bobby Hunt Barbara Lat1mer Beauford Lemon J1mrny Newton Delores Rel1ford Clara W1ll1ams Abby Hall Kathleen Phlllxps Rlchard Russell Mary Traut man and Luc11le Clark And fxnally we reached our Senlor year Th1s year started out w1th only 41 SSHIOTS hav1ng lost the others to varlous occupat1ons and the one of the most outstand1ng was matr1mony Our play th1s year was Rest Assured Th1s play was somewhat d1fferent and more d1ff1cult than the others We th1nk 1t was enjoyed more We were fortunate 1n hav1ng not only our sponsors help Wlth th1s play but also the ass1stances of Mrs Charles Russell our new Re creatlonal superv1sor of T C H S On Apr1l 1 the annual tr1p to Wash1ngton D C was made by several of the sen1ors And now w1th the endmg of th1s h1story our 4 years at T C H S are about to come to an end and many of us w1ll start out on a future completely new and exc1t1ng and we hope that each year 1n the future on our own w1ll be as wonderful as these we have spent 1n school and 1n our homes under the super v151on of our parents and our teachers Compllments of TAYLOR CO WELDING Ned Beams Qowner Phone 238 R 608 Meoder St I ll I ' ' ll ' I : I I I I I I I I I I 1 1 - I I I I I I . . . , I , . .
