Two were added the second semester, Emily Lltsey and Margaret Routin. Bobby Colvin was presi- dent of the class and Mr. Clay Marcum was the sponsor. We entered our Sophomore year with the following missing: Irvin Gaddis, Mae Miller, Billy Speer, Willis Berry, Frances Brown, Doris Sapp and Henry Webster. Helen Herron was added to our class. Juanita Benningfield--The next image in my crystal ball is a one-room school house and who is the teacher? Why it is Juanita teaching school at Salome. Bobby Blevins--What's this I hear, sounds like a campaign speechg yes, it is Bobby campaigning for Representative, good luck, Bobby. William Max Bowen--Max has become a business man. He is an automobile dealer and is now operating the local Ford Motor Company. Narjorie Bowen--Marjorie is married and is keeping house for her husband who operates a nation-wide gasoling business. Bob Chandler--Bob has become a radio comedian and has re- placed Tom Howard as quiz master, nIt Pays To Be Ijnorantu. Marcille Clark--Narcille has become a professional artist and is now chief artist for a large advertising firm in Louisville. Esther Cox--Ten years from now I see Esther wearing an apron and dust cap and keepin: house for Ralph Gabehart in a little white bungalo near Nannsville. Fayette Cox--and her pal Helen Herron have become secre- taries and are working for a large sports firm in Cincinnati. The Whitley brothers are the owners. Lucille Cox--Lucille is in partnership with her husband, Nr. X. They operate a large general store in Nannsville. P.S. Who is Mr. X? Jewel Edrington--Jewel is still working at Lermans but she has risen to the position of Chief Cashier and Assistant Manager. Maxine Flinchum--Maxine has chosen a strange vocation. She has become a woman aviator and is flying an airliner for the Flinchum and Wise Airline. Lena Forrest--Lena has become a bcokkeeper and is keeping books for a wholesale company. Margaret Graham--Since Margaret has already married, I can see her ten years from now living with her husband and five child- ren on a farm near Nannsville. Dean Hardin--Dean has fulfilled his ambition to become a lawyer and is practicing in Louisville. Vontress'Jones--Since Vontress seems to like agriculture so wel I can picture him as county agent, since Mr. Bryan has retired. George Jones--George, the only on in our class to become a preacher, is now pastor of the Coburg Baptist Church, Coburg, Kentucky. During our first year we learned to partici- pate in the school's activities, held class meetings and started on our way to greater thlmgs. When we entered our Sophomore year, we had as our sponsor, Nr. Clay Marcum. The Home Economics girls, with a few of our boys put on a chapel program. We also did our part in contributing basketball boys. At the end of the year we enjoyed a picnic. When we entered our Junior year, we wel- comed as our sponsor, Niss Ruby Darnell. Our activities were not very numerous, but we won a five dollar prize for having the greatest number of entries in the Soil Con- servation Essay Contest. At the close of school we went on a picnic, chaperoned by our soonsor, Miss Pike. Everyone had a grand time. We opened our Sophomore'year with still a large class of seventy-five students. Ten dropped out sense then leaving a total of eighty - four in the Freshman class. This is the largest Fresh- man class yet in the history of Taylor County High. We have not made much record except made plenty of noise and took up lots of room. The sponsors of the class are Mr. Mardis and Mrs Sanders.
