SECOND ROW: Benjy Lewis, Theodore Jackson, Craig Wilkie, Dwaine Parsons, Donnie Woods, Bill Thomp- son, Steve Shuey. Not pictured: Mike Lewis, Bill Silliman. The Tates Creek team ended the season with a 16-8 record. The team was coached by Louis Stout, W, A. West, and B-team coach Nolan Barger. The season opened with a win over Harrison County, followed by a loss to Mason County, 84- 79. TC then upset rival Henry Clay, 75-73, in a double overtime, before beating Lafayette. The Com- modores fell to Anderson, but rebounded back to beat Scott Cotuity, Breathitt, and Frankfort. TC suffered its first two city losses to Henry Clay and Bryan Station, but got back on the winning track clobbering Lafayette, Grant County, and Lexington Catholic. The streak was broken when the Creekers fell to Covington Catholic and Franklin County. TC was victorious in its next five outings, with the ex- ception of a loss to Bryan Station. Tates Creek drew a bye in the first round of the District, and beat Henry Clay easily in the semi- finals, 71-64. ln a low- scoring game, the Commodores became the champs with a 48-44 win over Lafayette. In the llth Region Tournament, TC clobbered Madison Central, and lost to previously-beaten Frankfort 53-35, end- ing a fine season and living up to the Commodores standard of success.
