At the Rebel Spirits' style show, Dee Ann Hill models an outfit with the layered look. lt was sponsored by White and Kirk. Vs? Students elect Julie Henderson as Belle Elections for Miss Southern Belle took place Oct. 2, along with the class officer elections. Run-offs for several positions were on Oct. 3. Julie Henderson reigned as the fifteenth annual Miss Southern Belle for 1972-73. The young lady who wins this honor represents the charm, grace and beauty of Tascosa and serves as the official school hostess for that year. Miss Henderson participates in Rebel Spirits and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is also the senior editor for the Las Memorias and is feature editor of the Pioneer. Young Life is another of her activities. Miss Henderson is serving as a Symphony Belle for the Amarillo Symphony. Rosalind Knox was runner-up. Other finalists were Ann Bovven, Lisa Gholston, Sally Holt and Madeline Johnson. Rebel Spirits, along with White 81 Kirk, sponsored a fashion shovv entitled Your Two Worlds of Fashion on Oct. 14. The shovv presented different types of clothing for both school and social life. One hundred and five Tascosa students modeled in the show which was in the Cinema Theatre. Proceeds vvent to the Rebel Spirits. School desegregation began this year in city schools as busing came into being. STUDENT LIFE 21
