Dance Follows Rebel Victor AND THEY DID . . . Bill Porter directs his band as they blast out Dixie The sign hanging above them was prepared by members of the football team before the Sandie-Rebel game. SMOKESCREEN FOR THE SANDSTORM . . . An accidental burning completed the demolishing of the Beat the Sandie car, sponsored by the Key Club before the crosstown clash. We'll kill those cannon-kipers quickly became the Rebel slogan dur- ing the week of the Sandie football game. The absence of the Rebel cannon caused spirit to explode within each student and strengthened the team's determination to win. Posters covered the halls and shouts of the hoped-for victory echoed throughout the cafe- teria during lunch. The cannon was returned before game time Friday, and roared fre- quently at the game blasting out the 29-0 Rebel victory. After the game, students celebrated their win at the victory dance in Tascosa's commons. BRING ME A SPECIMEN . . . Lindsey Dowell plays the mad scientist in the Rebel skit.
