Our Class History In September, l954, we entered Tarrant High as freshmen. That year many things happened to us, but the most unforgettable was the fire which destroyed a large part of our building. We met our classes in churches and the recreation center for about a month. After we returned to the unburned portions of our building, some classes were held in the Boyles Baptist Church. As sophomores, we saw the size of our class greatly increased by students from the iunior high schools in the area. The new faces helped our school almost as much as the new face the building had acquired during the summer. All Juniors look forward to the prom in the spring! We were no exception. lt required a lot, of hard work and many headaches, but it was worth it! The class picnic, a new activity for the iunior class, was quite a success. Now, it's hard to believe that we are S-E-N-I-O-R-S! One interesting event follows another-senior meetings, election of class officers, naming Who's Who, selection of class rings, the senior play, the Junior-Senior Prom, and, finally, Graduation! Somewhere, mixed in with all our fun and extra activities, we did a lot of studying and gave serious thought to our hopes and ambitions for the years ahead. To all our teachers who planted the seeds of knowledge and prodded us along when we dallied, we are most grateful.
