ACTIVITIES COUNCIL lTop rowl Garry lvey Beverly lhnfeldt Glenda Oliver. lBottom rowl Pat Calloway, Sally Brown, Vivian 1 r r r r p Council Provides Varied Activities After classes, many students found relaxation and excitement at the many co-curricular social, recreational, and cultural activities furnished by the Activities Council, Howdy Weel-1 planning and coordination, as well as the over-all student union program, fell under the councils domain. Not ones to handle student activities blindly, mem- bers of the council trained for their jobs at various sem- inars during the year, ln August, Chairman Garry Ivey and member Sally Brown attended the University of Texas at Austin Leadership Training Lab at Wimberly. December found the entire council in New Orleans attending the Association of College Unions Region Xll Annual Conference The conference provided workers in college student union programs with instructions on leadership techniques, These conferences and other local leadership semi- nars enabled the Activities Council to work with know' ledge and confidence in boolfing campus events. The council was composed of the chairman of the eight activities committees and chaired by SGA second vice president Garry Ivey. Danny Washmon, Carol McGriff, and Garland Hutson begin to make plans for next year's activities.
