Collins, Gordon, Nauman, Fisher, I. Collins, D. Ferguson, Elam Reynolds, Carlson, and Russell. Tarkio's track fortunes were much the some as the few years iust previous to l959. Mr. Gilbert fielded another strong team, but once again not quite strong enough to cop the MCAU title. Missouri Valley placed first in the conference meet, Tarkio was a strong second, Westminster was third, William Jewell fourth, and Central fifth. Tarkio scored dual victories over William Jewell, Maryville, and Omaha U. while losing two meets to Peru. The Owl thinclads managed a re- spectablethird place finish at the Graceland relays. Particularly outstanding per- formances were turned in this spring by Allen Reynolds who established a new re- cord in the discus, by George McVicker who grabbeda first place in the tough Doane Relays in the High Hurdlesp by Senior, Ed Hughes who was undefeated in the two mileeventthisspring, and by Hugh Ferguson who tied for 5th at the National NAIA meet this year, and who scaled as high as 13' l in the Pole Vault.
