New faces were seen on the stage, new equipment was purchased, new scenery was made . . . all these were part of the outstanding achievement of the Alpha Delta Cast of this national frater- nity. Three plays were given under the efficient direction of Professor Held- Caste by Tom Robertson, The First Million by Dr. Rankin McBride, and The Bishop Misbe'haves by Frederick Jackson. It was our good fortune to have the world premier of The First Million , which Dr. McBride wrote while he was on thf-B campus. We expect to hear more of this gay comedy in the future. The fine work done by the play production class should receive acknowledgement and commendation. Many points toward membership in Alpha Psi have been gained by this work. Seven new members were received into the cast during the year. Cast Director ....... ....................... F rederick Driftmier Business Manager ...... .......... 1933, THE TARKIANA BACK ROW-Campbell, Holden, Allen, Caldwell, Elder, Huston, Reed, Ettleman, Kroth. SECOND ROW-Volker, Bennett, Godfrey, Lunan, Arneal, Magill, Beight, Carson. FIRST ROW-Smith, Stickerod, Doughty, Pemberton, Thompson, Kelly, Knox, Anderson. d!9!7d7dfAZ6ilfL iiE Cdf2T 0CZ6f In 1908 Taft was elected President of the United States. Ty Cobb was stealing home on pitched balls, and feminism reared its head on Tarkio College campus when one eventful night the women of Athenian Literary Society walked out for ever and ever on the men falas! amid great clapping!J to form their own separate society, the Kappagathean. The feminist emphasis in the motto they adopted, Wo- men too, women few, women true, seems to have been no accident. The last thirty years-from Roosevelt to Roosevelt-have seen many changes. Where, in early meetings, our predecessors delivered solemn orations, we present a scene from t'he life of a Young Wife Making Pancakes. Whereas they debrated burning sociological issues, we are more interested in the relative merits of classical music and jazz. However, they had their light moments, and we have our sferi0uS Ones- Kappa WHS Organized to meet the needs of the students of that day, and now it attempts to fill the needs of those of today by supplying social recreation and en- couragement in expression.
