1938, THE TARKIANA CS-0!7A0l4fL0'C6ei CLASS OF 1940 ' The Sophomores, famed for their wise foolishness , have attempt- ed to make the best of their position this year and have succeeded. No chance to display our talents, no opportunity to serve was overlooked. We make no claim to any great genius, but we do lay claim to the ideal girl of the school, to some of the best athletes, to half of a good school party, to a thorough job of initiating the Freshmen and winning Scrap Day, and last, to a spirit of action and service that has shown itself throughout the year. - As Freshmen, we were as green as Frosh should be, but as Sopho- mores, the green has faded out, and we begin to show our true colors. Two more years provide for us new worlds to conquer ftrite but truell, and new paths to explore. Now that we have learned how little we know, our heads have shrunk to their proper size, and humbly, we look forward to the rest of our college career. page twenty-four
