Atthough the team did not win the con- ference, they were rated hy the sports writers as the hest team in the conference. The squad was unusua11y sma11, making it hard for Coach Ky1e to train his men in practice. The 1ast of the season the team was handicapped hy the numerous injuries suffered in the Missouri Vattey and Hastings games, especia11y hy the henching ot Capt. Wotfe. The hightights of the season were the two 1atera1 passes of Wotte to Boyte, in the Va11ey game which sent Boyte dashing around end for two touchdowns the 1ast quarter of that game which ended 21 to 20 in favor of the Qwtsg and the Peru game which ended 7 to 6. ' The OW1 gridsters came out of the season with four victories, one tie, and three defeats, on1y one of these defeats in the conference. We were second ptace hotders in the M. C. A. U. conference. We mourn the 1oss 01 Capt. Vvotfe, Boyte, D. Craig, Cohen, and Graham from our gridiron next year. Even with this heavy 1oss of men, we wi11 have a strong 1ine for next year, and a hright out1oo1c into the 1937 season. Page 64
