CHAMPIONS T THE heginning of the 1936 season the prospects did not look so hright as they might have, hut as time went on, the individuals took shape as a team. The excellent leadership of Captain Clarence Cox and the determination of Ralph Bennett were deciding factors in the success of this season. The outstanding achievements of the season were the records of Ralph Ben- nett in the miie and half-miie, McFarland in the pole vault, Padget in the high jump and javeiin, and Cox in the quarter. Ralph Bennett put away his track shoes without having iost a miie race in iVi.C.A.U. competition, during his four years. MEET The outstanding event of the year was the M.C.A.U. Meet at Fulton, Mo. The contest divided into a three-way duel hetween Taricio, Jewell, and Central. The top position was juggied hetween these three schools throughout the meet First place depended upon the last event, or the half-miie relay. Padget came through in the anchor position to win the race and consequently the meet for Taricio.
