Q DEBATE HE largest debate squad in the history of forensics at Tarkio College boasts of a most profitable and successful year. The dehaters toured over fifteen hundred mites, visiting ten college campuses, and dehating twenty-one schools for a total of fifty-five dehates. - The squad Was host to Emporia State Teachers College on January 20, dehat- ing them in the afternoon and then again in the evening over radio station KMA at Shenandoah, Iowa. 011 January 23, the squad participated in the Maryville tournament, and came out with flying colors. They received an invitation to the Rocky Mountain Speech Conference held at Denver University, Fehruary 18-20, and entered three teams at the tournament. They dehated twenty-seven times on the trip, including three stopovers at Greeley State Teachers College, Greeley, Colo- radog Hastings College, at Hastings, Nehraskag and Nebraska Wesleyan Univer- sity, at Lincoln, Nebraska. At the Denver meet, Frederick Driftmier Won individual honors hy placing in the upper twelve of forty-two orators entered in the oratorical contest. Wayne Driftmier Went to the third round of the extemporaneous speaking division of the same meet. The dehate squad visited Park College on March 5 where they debated Park and Missouri Valley, and then drove to William Jewell Where they met them in contest on March 6.
