Instead of the imagined tropical climate we invisioned, we found pea-coats a necessity. Instead of camels and sand, we found wide paved streets and French taxis. We found that the Foreign Legion rode in trucks. We saw Arabian women veiled from head to toe and French dancers with no veils at all fpracticallyj.
