New English Program Begun - The knowledge of one’s language and literary heritage is basic to one’s education. Although this need is fundamental for everyone, individuals differ in their practical interests and in their requirements for the future. With this fact in mind, the English Department has organized a program which attempts to provide our students with a thorough knowledge of the English language as well as focusing on the individual needs, interests, and talents of our students. This series, using the inductive Studies Project: approach, explores fifteen major issues faced by our nation today. Among the problems studied are: The Negro’s View of America, and Community Change. 24
