Y 1 0112155 Qminrg h Culfam 15 SIOIYIS-2 UD Yes the curtain rises on the first act of our high School life, Hilmtly as Freshmen Being seventy one lllCllVlllll2.lS and dlstmft Darts wc were drvrded into two sections wrth MISS Bankard and Hrs Seibel as our advisers The boys found algebra class very exhilarating for rt was durrng this trme they took therr daily exercises Jumping' out the wrndow Lrkewrse being a homolreneous class we adrortly accomplish d such feats as hooking class, prtchrng sprtballs even throwing rnk bottles Vle were berated for being such ominous threats to ord r and drscrplrne hut wc made oursclves uscful at various trmes A few of us took part ln the op cretta Norwcgran Nights We also took time out from our pranks and antics to pa s exams wrth our latent knowledge, which brought the curtain down on Act One There is a hush rn the theatre as the cur tam as ends on Act Two, when fifty sw Srlly Sophomorcs came regretfully back to school Mrs Shrpley ushered the majority of our class through this phase, whrle fifteen grrls werc under the supervision of Vlrss Fehl With the ard of 'Vlrss Little biology proved to be the most rnterestrng and excrtrng class this year Inspired by Mrs Shipley s pep talks, we also won the magazine contest Most of the class found themselves rn the midst of rehearsals for the Musical of Amerr can MUSIC and rn The Story of Scrooge at Chrrstmas N ager antrcipa tion and thc urge to see the world led us Jubrlantly on our field trrp to Wash rrrgton Our report cards marked the climax as Sophrm res and w wcrf promoted As Act Thr e opens the audience looks upon fifty four members of the class, separated into two groups again Wlrs Lucas and 'Vlrs MacDonald were the advisers who sedulously gurded us through our trrals and trrb ulatrons as Jolly Junrors A rcmrnscrencc of our Sadrc Hawkins Dance and Valentine s Dancc, rcmrnds us of thc enthusiasm and enjr yment wc put rnto making them a success Under the capable leadership of Mrs lucas the Junior class play, Life dents will not forget the battles we fought rn 'Vli Crabbs hrstory classcs Again this season as when we were Sophomores we engcy ed a so called Jour ney to Washington The Spring Musical and Christmas entertainment pro vided important roles for each and every on of us Then came the day we received our class rings and for everal days we made them conspicuous to all observers Ther was not all play this year, however The Junrors pub lished the last edition of the Taneyette wh ch IS a tremendous task The Junror Senior Banquet was the highlight of th wear, regardless of the fact that it was held 1n the school auditorium The final scene as Juniors found us on a pleasure trip to Hershey Frnally the last curtain rrses on fifty survivors of learning who wer separated into homerooms letween 'Vhs Vly rs and Wlrs Ylnglrng We rc gretfully saw Guy Buchen part from us leavrng only fortv nrne tudents to graduate rn the year 1949 'Vlrs Vlvers our adn er diligently help d us to overcome the many obsta les and hindrances wh ch faced us rn endeavorrng to attain our goal Our cultural aspect this year was spotlrghted when we sponsored the A Cappella Chor ,Since our previous danecs r cerwed numerous curtain calls we strove to make the St Patrrck Dance the best of all Ecldre Sauble was our St Patrick while B atrrce Naughn was hrs Sham rock Que n There were attendants from each cf the other chgrols rn the county Nlever a dull mom nt was experienced this year since the 'Ianew ette and Spotlight kept us busier than wc de red to be Quite a cfmmotron was caused the day our rnvrtat ons name cards and class pins were d trrb uted Our compen at on came at last when in a com med state of ol rrucl and sudd n soberness we vers solemnly marched up to the tag rn our caps and gowns to be duly rewarded with our diplomas The curtarn falls on the last performance of th Class of 49 3 n T Q - - - - . 1 . - .
