STUDENT ADVISORY CGIVIIVIITTEE The Student Advisory Bi-Racial Committee is a very important part of the human relations program at T.B.T. It consists of a group of elected student representatives who work at finding solutions to racial problems and developing a congenial atmosphere for all students. Any school activity relating to desegregation and human relations is a topic which interests the student advisory committee. The committee takes the lead in the ex- change of attitudes and opinions in the following activ- ities: 1. Rap sessions among the committee members, administration, faculty, parents, and students. 2. Discovering problem areas and suggesting ways of improvement. 3. Carrying out special student-to-student pro- grams. 4. Suggesting programs to meet the special needs of students. 5. Reviewing the curriculum with the administra- tors and faculty to insure tht-t it meets the needs of all students. 6. Coordinating with the administration and faculty to review school policies and regulations. 7. Being a forum, whereby students can know that their ideas are being given consideration. The Student Council represents the student body. lt serves both the stu- dents and the administration. They initiate projects, discuss issues that may need change, and encourage the support of the stu- dent body. Therefore, their activities brought out the spirit of the entire student body. Lettermen members participated in football, basketball, wrestling, baseball, track, corss-country and golf. Mr. Anderson, head football coach, sponsored the Lettermen's Club. 54
