An offense that amassed 128 points and a de- fense that gave only 10, pretty well tell why we were undefeated, League Champions and ranked 11th among all small schools in the state. After a forfeit victory over Cambridge, the team prepared for strong, veteran, Averill Park. A scoreless first-half revealed our very tough defense. The game was all defense, until late in the third quarter, Quarterback Dave Adams, hit Gary Dormandy with a touchdown pass for the only score of the game. 6 to 0 - Tamarac. A powerhouse composed of Ro-J an and Ocka- wanick players re-named T aconic Hills, was our next opponent. After another scoreless iirst-half and our defense doing a superb job, Lou Dunham recovered a fumble, and Adams, almost instantly, connected with Dormandy for a touchdown. The defense continued its great work and the Taconic Hills team went home scoreless. Zero for them and six for us. .fi-.ga.5aial.E--.tE, , .ll M. Our defense registered its fifth shut-out and the offense had the best game of the season. Marty Kaiser scored the first touchdown on a four yard plunge, Dave Adams hit Dormandy for two touchdowns and Alex Murphy scored both conversions. In the second half Dormandy re- covered a V.R. fumble and ran 45 yards for a score. Marty Kaiser added another six points after an eight yard run. The final 28-O assured us a tie for the championship. Varsity cheerleaders - always supporting the team. The Coxsackie game was an important one be- cause we were battling them for llrst place in the league. Dave Adams got things started by sneak- ing in for our first scoreg Dan Dougherty took a 57 yard bomb in for another, and we were on our way again. In the 3rd quarter Coxsackie scored a touchdown and a safety. Adams and Dormandy combined again and another six points went up for Tamarac. Dan Dougherty added a two-point conversion. Adams concluded the scoring by pass- ing to Dougherty for the final points. 26-8 and we were the league leaders. Chatham never had a chance as the Tamarac defense, led by Tim Bornt, Mike Centanni, Pete Deegan, and Sophomore Steve Empie, recorded its third shut-out. The scoring started with Dor- mandy trapping a Chatham halfback in his end- zone for a safety. Our offense led by Bill O'Brien, Marty Kaiser, and Dave Adams took complete command of the game. A touchdown pass from Adams to Dougherty, a couple of plunges and a two-point conversion by Marty Kaiser and a final Hfteen-yard run by Sophomore John Hardick, added up to a 26 to 0 win over Chatham. Anxious to keep us on top. We tied-down the leadership in a romp over Voorheesville. Dave Adams and Dan Dougherty again combined to start the scoring with a success- ful 50-yard touchdown pass. Richard OlBrien intercepted a pass and ran 45 yards for another score. Marty Kaiser added a two-point conversion. At this point, Voorheesville trapped one of our men in the end zone for a safety, its only score of the game. Adams and Kaiser ended the scor- ing for the day by each tallying another touch- down. The final 26-2 victory gave us the league championship, an undefeated season and state- wide recognition. 101 Rich.
