Career Guidance Center Before deciding where to go after high school, one must look into what different schools offer and which of their programs best suit both academic and social needs. Fortunately for Tam students, the Career Guidance Center offers such an opportunity. Representatives from all types of schools come to the C.C1.C. and tell students about all aspects of the school they represent. One can learn about the majors offered at Harvard, the cost of attending state schools as opposed to private universitites, the advantages of a vocational school, the quality of the foreign language department at Lewis and Clark or the possibility of a person who does not meet U.C. minimum requirements gaining admission after attending two years at the College of Marin or Indian Valley Colleges. If financing further education is a problem, the representatives can help. They tell students about how to apply for financial aid from the state, and what aid is offered by the school and how to apply for it. If money is still a problem, representatives from both Army and Navy come and explain how and under what conditions the Armed Forces will finance your education. With the valuable information one can get at C.G.C., it is hoped that every student can make wise choices about college. This year nearly fifty representatives came to Tam and about 750 students attended the discussions about college.

Student Support In a system of education so oriented towards basic learning and discipline, it is refreshing to know that there is still a place where you can just sit down and talk about your problems without worrying about parents or teachers hearing about it. The name of this place is Full Circle, a student support service at Tam directed by former teacher Jimmy Brown. Besides being director, Jimmy Brown helps with homework, gets tutors, rearranges schedules, and helps with finding appropriate schooling after high school. The vocational side is handled by Bill Arthur. He helps with finding work, getting through job interviews, and making connections in the working world. The student counseling is done by Golda Michelson and Janet Jacobsen. They deal with everything from sexual relationships and divorced parents to transfer students who are lost in a new environment. They stress that no matter how large or small the problem, students shouldn't be afraid to just walk in and start talking. Services to f

Fashion: L 1 3 .. Q fir- NA ,F The 1981-82 school year brought with it new students, new teachers and a new principal. It also brought with it two new fashion crazes - those of knickers and leg warmers. No matter what the weather was like, on any given day a plethora of girls could be seen wearing these articles of clothing. Knickers are usually associated with an old-time golf tournament, but now they are being worn on any occasion. Matched with sneakers or topsiders, and socks ranging from argyle to plain to none, knickers were de reguer for the well-dressed girl on campus. Although it is not apparent what started the knicker craze, once begun it could not be stopped. It is only logical that leg warmers would come along at the same time as knickers. Since knickers end at the knee, their natural complement is leg warmers - thick socks running from the ankle to the knee. This year leg warmers were worn with skirts iacceptablej, or over jeans lfor those with a middle-school mentalityj, or even Qby a daring fewj with knickers. it S L'
